3 Winter Essentials for KidsCradle Care Team
The weather is getting colder and the nights are drawing in. It’s time to start thinking about how to keep your little one toasty warm through the long winter months. Here we look at three winter essentials for boys and girls to make sure they stay warm and snug when they go outdoors.
Hats are very much a winter essential, and keeping those little heads warm should be a priority. No one likes getting cold ears, and a warm hat that keeps them covered is a good investment.
What should you be looking for in a good hat? The material, firstly. One of the best materials for a warm winter hat is cotton. Not only is it incredibly comfortable, but it also provides good moisture absorption.
A lot of our hats are 100% cotton, so you can easily find something in the store. For example, take a look at the Boss Orange Pull-On Hat for something fun, funky and comfortable for boys. Or you might opt for a part-cotton hat like the (rather adorable) Sätila Baby Laura White Hat.
Consider the colour and design as well. Some hats are more suitable for boys while some are very much for girls, like the A*Dee Eileen Hearts Red Hat with its delightful bow.
For little fashionistas, pay close attention to the latest fashions. We’ve got lots of new-season hats to choose from in our huge selection of designer hats for boys and girls, so you can be sure you’re getting something on-trend that your little one will love.
The classic scarf does a great job of keeping necks warm while also being an important fashion accessory for many – including kids!
Again, the material is important. You want something comfy, breathable and cosy, and once again, 100% cotton is a great option.
As well as considering the material, choose something stylish that goes with their other winter clothes. For a boy, something bold and stripy like the Mitch & Son Tyler Explore Scarf might be just the thing. For a girl, the super-cute A*Dee Effy Hearts Scarf is a good choice.
Gloves are the third winter essential for kids. Hands often get colder because they are so exposed, causing discomfort. A good pair of warm, cosy gloves can help to keep your kids warmer and more comfortable as the winter gets even colder.
Make sure you choose a pair of gloves with good insulation. For the youngest kids, consider a pair of mittens that are attached by a cord to stop them getting lost!
